The company behind Zcash rebranded to Electric Coin Co. in 2019 — to eliminate confusion in the market and to align for future opportunities.
Zcash (the digital currency) has at its core a strong foundation of science and mathematics, and so as we started the rebrand project, we went back to the Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution for inspiration. We looked at sketches from Copernicus and scientific diagrams that were created hundreds of years ago. We we were drawn to this time period because — and if you don’t know much about Zcash, this may be difficult to understand — Zcash isn’t just a medium of exchange or a speculative asset. Zcash is a worldview.
The company celebrates and actively seeks new ideas. It argues and it experiments. It maths hard. It is profoundly rigorous and meticulous.
Despite looking to the past, the Electric Coin Co. brand emerged adaptable, evolution-friendly, and has a quality that is sort of timeless.
We find video can be one of the most compelling ways to tell a story. And if your boss just casually mentioned to you that "video is the future of marketing," you're in luck. We can help.
This page showcases a few projects we’ve worked on for different clients and with various companies over the last few years. In most of these clips, we handled creative direction, script writing, interviews, storyboarding, motion and other creative work. In some cases, production, editing and motion were handled elsewhere by really talented companies, like Friends of Mine (Denver) and Scorch (London).

Zcash is a digital currency (cryptocurrency) with strong privacy features. It's like Bitcoin, except that with Zcash, you control what information you share with the world, e.g., addresses, transaction amounts and memos.
Zcash Company, the creators and stewards of the currency, spoke well to technical, scientific and academic audiences, and the currency was getting buy-in from the innovator crowd. But to grow, its message needed to resonate with a larger group of people, including early adopters, press, partners and talented potential employees.
It needed a more accessible brand and a better way to explain sometimes-complex topics, like the benefits of digital privacy and security. And zK-SNARKs.
Zcash Company was also looking upgrade to a better online user experience — a site that shepherds users to appropriate content, based on their interests, level of industry knowledge and what they are looking to achieve (or learn) on the site.
We started with a refresh of their visual brand and a new set of messaging. We designed and built a new Zcash website, which launched in October 2018, and then signed on as the Zcash Company agency of record shortly after.
Adjy has been the agency of record for Statera since 2016.
In addition to rebranding this tech consulting firm, we designed and developed the Statera website and work with them on a daily basis for marketing and design needs, like landing pages, email campaigns, sales decks and brochures, video, podcasts and other creative services.
Fixt is a cool company run by cool people. They are kind of like Uber for cell phone repair and replacement within enterprises and medium-sized businesses.
They came to Adjy for a sales and marketing strategy push.
We helped them with messaging, sales presentations, brochures, brand standardization, video and even a logo update.
This work was done pre-Adjy, when Chris was the creative director at K2, but it's worth having here, because it showcases some of our capabilities. (K2 is currently an Adjy client.)
This is the rundown:
Like every brand, the K2 brand evolved over time, but we always remained true to our purpose: We power the people who build great companies.
Authenticity, power, aspiration and innovation were guiding principals that allowed us to create and maintain an emotional connection with our audience.
We avoided stock footage and imagery, relying instead on commissioned photography and video of our customers and their environments whenever possible.
The spirit and voice were unusual in the enterprise technology space, and the approach was often welcomed as a breath of fresh air (internally, externally and with the media) in an industry that is often stale and predictable.
